Buxton Bound! (powered by rubbish WiFi and caffeine)
I'm currently parked in a coffee shop at Edinburgh Waverley, travelling to a microbiology health and safety course and, for once, I'm putting the trip to good use by updating this blog rather than mindlessly doomscrolling on my phone!
Health and safety might not be the most exciting topic in the world, but it's at the heart of both my day job and my consultancy work. As a laboratory manager, it's about making sure my team can work safely and confidently every day. As a consultant, it's about helping clients build and maintain the same culture of safety, while also making sure I practise what I preach whenever I'm working independently on their sites. One thing I've learned over the years is that you're never too experienced to learn something new or to refresh what you already know.
So, while the Wi-Fi is mostly holding up and the coffee is still working, I'm making the most of the journey doing some AI training and social media updates 🙂.
