Wednesday - Business Plan!

I have been invited by Midlothian Council and Business Gateway to submit a business plan to receive a grant for my start up costs. So, this is what my day is looking like!

I am so proud of how far my business has come in the last 10 months - and to be honest, it was really unexpected! That’s why the business plan is counterintuitively coming now, as I had no idea how my business was going to take shape. Consulting work is unpredictable and work often arrives all at once! (Typical! But I am not complaining).

I love the variety that I get in this role - from AI training, to studying the compost microbiome, to quality assessment of accredited laboratories! Combined with my first love of microbiology, bringing variety into my life is incredibly refreshing and allowing me to access my wider skill set built over the years through commercial work, research and teaching. And working for myself is giving me the autonomy to carry out work that means a lot to me.
